I understand where you are at this exact point in your life because I too have been there. My “been there” is what got me to right here…helping you.

DeAnna L. Alexander, MA

To celebrate 8 years of LIVING with an SCI, I chose to pay it forward by going back to Houston, where my injury happened, for the first time since leaving TIRR, (the best rehabilitation in the world). It was an honor to speak with so many patients individually, and as a group.

Greetings Beautiful Souls! It's ME...DeAnna.

A certified coach and mentor committed to your freedom and growth!

As a "B.O.S.S" who "Believes Others Should Succeed", I am dedicated to helping women create the life they are passionate about living. My expertise stems from a combination of life experiences, education, and trainings that inspire me to help others help themselves first, and then someone else.

I understand that life happens...I also understand that in order to live life, I must embrace it well enough to learn from it while evolving at the same time. Eleven years ago, when life threw my biggest lesson, I was forced to "change my ways"...as my grandmother would say. I was gunned down, left paralyzed from the stomach down, and forced to LIVE in a wheelchair, rather than EXIST on my feet. I embrace all that has happened along my journey, because it has empowered the woman I have become.

What others may view as a tragedy, I view as an opportunity that was needed at a pivotal moment during my journey. As a woman in America, I embrace my abilities more than the "disability" of a diagnosis; resulting in my inspiration to advance my education and obtain a Master of Arts in English and Creative Writing. It was that experience that influenced my self-published fiction novel titled Meet Love Through My Eyes, which is available on all platforms that allows the purchase of paperback books or eBooks, or you may click here. My passion and education helps me understand the importance of effective communication and expression.

I embrace the skills and trainings needed to advance my knowledge and awareness on a daily basis as a Psychology Administrator and scholar-practitioner completing a second Master of Science in Clinical Psychology. I also facilitate an educational and support group for individuals participating in a workout from home research study program (WOWii). In that group, I provide individuals with spinal cord injuries guide-by-guide strategies and techniques, motivation, and support to maintain an effective and healthy lifestyle that is active and independent.

I have a deeply rooted connection to reading, writing, and speaking; but my immeasurable desire is to help other individuals freely express themselves while obtaining and embracing the experiences that may arise throughout their journey. For this is why Freedom's Den was created, with emphasis on FREEDOM. I firmly stand behind the mission and purpose of Freedom's Den, as it was developed out of aspiration for healing and stimulating healthy relationships with one's self and others. As a coach and mentor, I am the anchor that help others feel seen and heard well enough to create and complete life goals and overcome any obstacles along the way.

Are you ready to create the life you've been deeply desiring? That deep desire is your soul...
